After 4 weeks when berth, it was nice to cast off for a are in Lake Mälaren. We went north to Sigtuna. The Lake is not quite what we're used to, but it definitely has its fascination. Just this weekend drove the clouds heavy flak over the countryside and gave a silverskimmer over the Pacific insjöfjärdarna. Here is the bare, polished rocks and clear waters and lush greenery and lush estates has its charm.
We rounded Smedslätten, past Hässelby and further up over Görwäln against Stäket. Faber by Stäket is crowded. The Nice bridge guard opened quickly turn the bridge so we could go through with 70 cm benefit on each side. At Strait between Monk and Tärnsund were several fishermen in the blank water.
Once in Sigtuna, we got our pre-booked berth at Big Bridge. A nice concrete Quay next to the Waffle House restaurants and Boat. During the evening was invaded by millions of Jarramas now drawn by light on board. After a cup of tea, however, we almost fell asleep.
Saturday was skurarnas day. We walked the length and breadth of Sigtuna. Visited the old SS where I went to school for 45 years ago. Notable känska. The school houses are now a conference center and much is new.
We finished the day with a splendid supper on board. Kantarelltoast, crab and fresh raspberries!
The next morning it was time to go back to Stockholm. The wind freshened and the clouds dissipated as. A great day on the Lake. John took the opportunity to work a few hours. When we tied at Norr Mälarstrand, however, had one of the mooringlinorna the bad taste to get trapped in the aft bogpropellern. Hero jonas wetsuit passed quickly by the problem… men det är en annan histotia 🙂
